Voices of Pride

When asked “What does Pride mean to you or your group?” This is what you all had to say.

IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access) Alliance about our community and advocate for equality and justice in the workplace and beyond. We aim to provide a supportive space built to strengthen our social connections and to drive REAL change

For us, Pride is not just a moment or a celebration—it’s an ongoing commitment to ensuring that everyone who walks through our doors is treated with dignity, supported in their journey, and empowered to move forward.

Resilience

We Pride ourselves in welcoming everyone. It means so much to our organization to participate in the New Orleans PRIDE parade and the events of the week.

Pride means celebrating love in all its shapes and sizes. It means inclusivity and unity.

Community, friendship, love.

Pride means celebrating who we are and building community by dancing to ABBA!

Means acceptance. The ability to shine and be who you are. Be proud, be visible, be loved. We are a chosen Family.

Pride means showing up fully as who you are and creating space for others to do the same. It’s joy you can’t contain, love you can’t hide, and a community that shows up loud and proud. We believe in lifting each other up, celebrating individuality, and building a space rooted in acceptance, support, and unapologetic self-expression. Pride is about visibility, unity, and empowerment. Turning the streets into a place where everyone belongs. We’re here to dance, celebrate, and stand together in honor of the vibrant, diverse community that makes our city so powerful.

To me, pride means not letting social, religious, or politic rhetoric get in the way of me being who I am and knowing that who I am is a part of a beautiful community. Community to me is a group of like-minded people working towards bettering spaces we all frequent and taking care of each other as best we can.

Pride is the highlight of our year! Pride means supporting our LGBTQ members and community. Love is love!

Love is Love.

Pride means building community through dance.
